Christopher Isherwood
Christopher William Bradshaw Isherwood was an English famous for his travels. He was born August 26, 1904 at Wyberslegh Hall in Cheshire, England. His "Berlin Stories", based on his own experiences in Berlin, were eventually adapted into the musical and film Cabaret. The film being somewhat closer to his true story than the musical. He was a life time friend since childhood, a briefly lover, of Wystan Hugh Auden. He also had long term relationships with Heinz Neddermeyer and Don Bachardy, with whom he lived the longest and at the end of his life. Christopher moved to Los Angeles in 1939 and lived there for the remainder of his life. Christopher passed away in Santa Monica, California in 1986 due to prostate cancer.
