Thomas White

Thomas White was born in about 1795, presumably in England. He was only 16 years old when he worked as a "Drummer of the Guards" in Portugal. He was arrested for being implicated in the "Vere Street Coterie", a scandal involving a gay brothel called the White Swan in London. An acquaintance had told authorities that Thomas had a sexual relationship with 42 year old Ensign John Hepburn at the White Swan. He was put on trial in London for "buggary". Upon conviction he was executed at Newgate Prison on March 7, 1811.
