Willard Burman

Willard Burman was born August 3, 1910 in California. He was convicted of sodomy, assault and threat while in the military and arrived at Alcatraz on June 4, 1939. He died on August 28, 1954 in Aberdeen, Washington.

An online index of Alcatraz prisoners says that he was listed as Willard Colwell on his death certificate. However, there was a Jack Willard Burman, born December 22, 1927 in Sacramento, California whose mother's maiden name was Colwell. There may have been a confusion between these two as they are clearly not the same person, the prisoner at Alcatraz having been born in 1910.
